BRAVEHEALTH research project inaugural event followed by large number of Stakeholders and health experts, Rome, March 8th -2010

The inaugural conference of BRAVEHEALTH, a 7 million euros research project financed by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Program held in Rome on March 8th brought together over 80 major stakeholders and health experts under the supervision on the European Commission.

The event presented a complete overview on the state of the art of Telemedicine in Europe and Italy. Major interventions were made by the Superior Institute of Health and the Italian Society of Telemedicine and testimonials were shared from all stakeholders, including from General Practitioners, hospital representatives, Universities of Medecine and the IAPO, the International alliance of patients' organizations. Vision of Telemedicine, emphasizing both the benefits and the weaknesses to overcome were discussed among the stakeholders ranging from hospitals and research centers to a hardware manufacturing biomedical companies, universities and large telecommunications and microelectronics companies.
The BRAVEHEALTH project was presented with the ambition to propose a model of sustainable telemedicine, close to the patient, creating a modern infrastructure of telemedicine supporting patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases.
