Training Course for local players and policy makers in Cairo, Egypt, May 2010

Within a large scale training course organized by the international training division of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE)  in Cairo running from  April  18th to June 7th ,2010 on the theme of “Business Internationalisation” for local players and public officials, Tommaso  FOGLIA, Manager of the  Nanotechnologies & Biotechnologies Department at INNOVA,  was appointed lecturer for a 2 day training on:

  • The strategic meaning of Innovation
  • From Innovation to Technology Transfer: how to turn technology into business value
  • The match between Technology and Strategy
  • The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) as a way to promote collaborations between European and Egyptian organisations to foster Innovation and Technology Transfer
  • Examples of R&D projects funded under the FP7
  • Technology Transfer models
  • The topics adressed were further illustrated by various case studies and exercises.

    The training initiative aims to enable policy makers and local players to understand the Italian economic development process and the vital role played by small business owners and associations in the dynamics of integrating industrial districts and further proposes reference models for the development of the Egyptian local industry.
