Against this background, the PRO INNO Europe® Annual Partnering Event will explore how new forms of cooperation between the different policy levels can be facilitated to provide more effective innovation support in Europe responding to the Grand Challenges, as to be identified by the European plan for innovation.

The declaration states that European research policy should move away from the present thematic approach and instead focus on the Grand Challenges of our time.
