The University of Calabria will inaugurate on November 30th , 2010 the new business incubator “TechNest”, located within the University’s Technology park and that will house up to 20 high-tech start-up companies.
The Incubator TechNest was set up as a result of the C.R.E.S.C.I.T.A. project, funded by the Ministry of Economic Development. The project, in which INNOVA was an active partner, was aimed at promoting the social and economic development of the Calabria Region by selecting new entrepreneurial ideas and high-tech innovative companies in phase of start-up or newly constituted and provide them with technical, economic and financial assistance. Together with the project partners, INNOVA strongly contributed to reach the projects’ goals of which one of the most important was the setting up of the incubator.
The Incubator will have at its disposal 2,000 m2, with 20 equipped rooms, 6 administrative offices and 1 multimedia room. In addition to dedicated office space, the incubated companies will benefit from a range of specialized services during their first year of activity (eg market research, evaluation of competitive factors and market analysis, patent search, etc.).
The event, sponsored by the Province of Cosenza and the Carical Foundation, will be held at the Incubator’s Conference room (Vermicelli Square) in the presence of representatives of important public and private institutions.
At this occasion the following important topics will be addressed:
- Universities, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
