Specialized training session on Open Innovation, 22 November 2012, Malta

Aleardo FURLANI, CEO of Innova, was the appointed lecturer on an Open Innovation Workshop organized by Malta Entreprise, the national development agency responsible for promoting and facilitating international investment in the Maltese Islands by offering investors business opportunities and tailored services.

The training workshop held on 22nd November was addressed to an audience of around 30 local stakeholders, technology transfer experts and other entities fostering knowledge and technology transfer.

The training workshop held on 22nd November was addressed to an audience of around 30 local stakeholders, technology transfer experts and other entities fostering knowledge and technology transfer.

The training methodology inscribed itself in a larger scale implementation of innovation processes through open and social innovation supporting the promotion of research activities and technological enhancement in partnership with entities belonging to the world of research and/or the industrial world.

The main purpose of the training session was to encourage stakeholders to further promote the technology transfer process and leverage innovative approaches within their organizations. The training provided them with the advanced know-how and skills to master the technology transfer process. The topics addressed were following:

  • The transition from Closed Innovation to Open Innovation and form Open Innovation to Social networks
  • Collective intelligence
  • Tools and platforms for Open Innovation        
  • Examples of Open Innovation   
  •  Risks and criticality
  • Open Innovation processes evolution : the Social networks and the Communities

The training session was followed by one-to-one consultation meetings with interested stakeholders.
