Focus on MedTech projects

MADIA

MADIA researched and developed a highly sensitive device for the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative disease, capable of measuring targeted biomarkers existing at low concentrations in treated cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) or blood samples. The device has been initially thought for the diagnosis of Alzheimer.

DRIVE

DRIVE researched and developed the β-system, a novel treatment for T1D and insulin-dependent T2D. The technology consists of a bio-interactive hydrogel (β-Gel) to deliver islets in a protected fashion to a surgical site, within a porous retentive microcapsule (β-Shell). A minimally invasive laparoscopic procedure will deliver the β-Shell using a specialised injection catheter β-Cath.

NAMDIATREAM

NAMDIATREAM developed a nanotechnology-based toolkit for multi-modal detection of biomarkers of most common cancer types and cancer metastases, permitting the identification of cells indicative of early disease onset in a high-specificity and throughput format in clinical, laboratory and point-of-care devices.

AMCARE

AMCARE developed an epicardial patch, injectable hydrogel, and transarterial catheter deployment device to regenerate the cardiac muscle after infarction. www.amcare.eu

MAGISTER

MAGISTER developed a new conceptually Magnetic Scaffold (MagS) type for tissue regeneration and orthopaedic surgery.
