Labor s.r.l., Innova Group’s engineering laboratory, hosted the Empathy project kick-off meeting in its headquarters in Rome. Labor is one of the consortium partners whose main objective is to develop an innovative configuration of permanent magnet electrical motor, enabling to limit torque ripple which traditionally affects such a configuration. This project opens the way to the industrial exploitation of magnetic flux switching motors which are able to offer unparalleled performance.
Going into technical details, the project's aims are the implementation of a simulation model for the motor configuration, the definition of a system architecture and the design of two final motor prototypes: Bearings on Stator (BOS) and Bearings on Rotor (BOR). These prototypes will be realized and tested as well as the design and the realization of the electronic control and the power system.
