The National Plan of Research in Italy indicates the EMSO platform (European Multidisciplinary Seafloor Observatory), developed by the national institute for geophysics and vulcanography (INGV) in collaboration with INNOVA, among the national strategic priorities.
According to the National Plan of Research in Italy, EMSO is a strategic project for Italy because it involves experiences of primary national and international importance in the sectors of research infrastructures and the construction of entities (service center and laboratory for advanced technologies) to manage the European Roadmap infrastructures foreseen the ESFRI roadmap for which Italy is the international coordinator.
