Participate to Value Ageing's online consultation !

INNOVA is partner in the EU FP7 funded project VALUE AGEING – Incorporating European Fundamental Values into ICT for Ageing: A vital political, ethical, technological, and industrial challenge – investigating various aspects of ICT for ageing (see http://www.valueageing.eu/).
As responsible for Work Package 5: a Scenario Exercise in ICT for Ageing, INNOVA has completed the Final Report of the main conclusions. In order to gather extended feedback and consolidate scientific findings, VALUE AGEING is inviting all stakeholders in ICT for Ageing to participate to an online public consultation on the main results.

Innova’s CEO, Aleardo Furlani, was interviewed on the University of Salerno’s web radio transmission ARDR (Alla Ricerca Dei Ricercatori) dedicated to research and start-ups.
The interview was the occasion to discuss M. Furlani’s educational and professional path. He was among the first in Italy and in Europe to be interested in research and technological innovation based start -ups.

Energy efficiency in European islands showcased at the “Save Energy Now” conference held in Brussels on 16-17 April 2013

Citizens and households are responsible for a large share of global energy and electricity consumption and the related greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. Important energy savings and carbon reduction can only be achieved with a paradigmatic change in consumer behavior in the context of usage patterns of energy using products.
The EU-funded project, PROMISE, coordinated by INNOVA, organized a two-day conference entitled “Save Energy Now” held in Brussels on 16th and 17th April to raise awareness on the energy efficiency topic.

STARTEEN pilot programme launched in cooperation with the LUISS University, supporting entrepreneurship & technology Start-ups, Rome (Italy), March 2013

INNOVA and LUISS University (Libera Università Internationale degli Studi Sociali) have signed an agreement for the launch of a pilot action aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and technology start-up creation.
The pilot action consists in providing training and support to young students and graduates from the LUISS University willing to create technology start-ups. The programme, named STARTEEN, is aimed at developing new business initiatives on the part of students attending the Masters’ degree in Economy and Business of the Luiss University.

The International Network for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (INSME) announces the opening of the INSMEAcademy, a new webinar-based training program on relevant topics concerning Innovation, Creativity, Strategic Partnerships and Entrepreneurial Spirit.
All webinars will be held at lunch time and each session will have a duration of 60 minutes including a 10 minutes Questions&Answers session. All participants have the possibility to take advantage of a free "Expert-talk"-Session, held during the following two weeks of the seminar to raise questions, find solutions and share good practices.

INNOVA and LABOR ranking on top of EU SME number of participations in FP7

Excellent ranking within the INNOVA Group was revealed in recently published fifth European FP7 Monitoring Report. The report, covering the implementation of the Framework Programme in the years 2007-2011 and based on the FP7 monitoring system, has revealed that in general and within-group rankings of the top 25 private-for-profit SMEs with the highest numbers of participations in FP7 signed grant agreements during the period 2007-2011, Labor s.r.l, Innova group’s private research laboratory, ranked on top of the list in 3rd position and INNOVA S.p.A. ranked 8th (up 3 positions from the previous ranking).

Labor member of the Shellbrane project, a novel solution for eggshell waste processing

Separating eggshell and its membrane to turn eggshell waste into valuable source materials is the scope of the Shellbrane project in which Labor Srl, INNOVA’s in-house R&D laboratory, is part of the project consortium.
Agricultural waste management is one of the most emerging problems of food processors. The amount of generated waste as well as the cost of waste disposal is ever increasing across Europe. Egg producers in particular are facing the problem of disposal of eggshell waste.

Innova is part of a large IP research project, TCLOUDS, on trusted Clouds. Partners include OxfordUniversity, IBM, Sirrix and many more. The aim is to develop the next generation of secure and trusted Cloud environment. Special focus is given to the needs of SMEs, as they represent 99% of European companies. Only if the demand side is aggregated, a competitive price can be reached and thus adopting secure cloud environment can be fostered.

Aleardo FURLANI, CEO of Innova, was the appointed lecturer on an Open Innovation Workshop organized by Malta Entreprise, the national development agency responsible for promoting and facilitating international investment in the Maltese Islands by offering investors business opportunities and tailored services.
The training workshop held on 22nd November was addressed to an audience of around 30 local stakeholders, technology transfer experts and other entities fostering knowledge and technology transfer.

Funds now available for Euroviron start-up, October 2012

The Italian Ministry of Research unlocks 345 thousand Euros to finance the start-up Euroviron, a company created by the medical doctor and scientist Antonio Giordano. The investment, approved by decree on research funds established in 2000, follows a proposal made by Innova’s seed-capital company Invent participating in the start-up. The project, is focused on the development of an early detection system for the identification of the reactivation of the JC virus in patients with "Kastkit JCV risk". The total cost of the intervention, entirely developed in the field of biomedical research, amounted to 560 thousand Euros: 374 000€ for industrial research and 186 thousand € for experimental development.
