Social Networks are rapidly entering into the workplace, revolutionizing the professional relationship among employees and enriching it with a social dimension. The changes crafted by new social networks can already be observed in many organizations and business processes. However, European companies need guidance to orient themselves in a complex world where rights and duties, behaviours and opportunities are strongly influenced by the new “networking freedom” of people working inside and outside companies.

Aleardo FURLANI, CEO of INNOVA, gave an interview during the round table organised in margin of the seminar on “Knowledge in motion - cooperation between Canadian and Italian Universities”, organized by the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa last October. The focus was set on the importance for the two countries to collaborate in bringing together research centers, universities and financing agencies and in increasingly involving the indiustrial world.

Today is the fourth year of the Global Business Incubation Day. Around the world, business incubators are celebrating the success of the companies they have supported.
The Moroccan Incubation and expansion Network (RMIE) for which INNOVA is carrying out a technical assistance project financed by the European Investment Bank also joins the international community and wishes everyone a Happy 4th partners Global Business Incubation Day!
In addition to this global incubation day, and as part of its ongoing support for incubator managers, the RMIE is organizing a seminar on Marketing Innovation on December 6, 2011, in Rabat.

Within their study tour in Italy, organised by the Italian Trade commission (ICE), a delegation of Balkan industrials visited INNOVA for a specialization course on technical and management practices on 24 November 2011. The main topics covered by the course were Technology Transfer and the access to European financing schemes. The course was followed by a visit of INNOVA’s in-house R&D laboratory highlighting it’s successful role in bridging research and market.

A delegation of 6 Tunisian representatives from the Tunisian Export Promotion Centre were welcomed at the Innova premises for a presentation of the Innova business Model and practical case studies of ongoing technical assistance projects in the Mediterranean involving institutional capacity building and business development coaching as well as the illustration of several successful technology transfer actions in the agro-food sector within EU-financed projects.
The study tour, organised by the Italian trade commission (ICE), included a visit of INNOVA’s in-house R&D laboratory highlighting it’s successful role in bridging research and market.

The study tour in Italy, organised by the Italian Trade commission (ICE) was addressed to a delegation of 7 Egyptian export managers active in the agro-food and marble sectors accompanied by officials from the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry. The focus of the study tour was to exchange views in the fields of technology transfer and research spin-offs.
INNOVA welcomed the delegation from Egypt at its premises for a presentation of its business model and a speech on innovation and technology transfer in the marble, textile and agro-food sectors. The study tour included a visit of INNOVA’s in-house R&D laboratory highlighting it’s successful role in bridging research and market.
Shanghai Technology Innovation Center - STIC delegation meeting at INNOVA premises, Rome, 17 November 2011

A high level Chinese delegation led by the Shanghai Technology Innovation Center (STIC) organized a study tour in Rome on November 17, 2011. The aim of the visit was to gather a better understanding on how to assist companies in accessing financial schemes, intelligence and opportunities in Italy and seek incubator- based potential cooperative opportunities.
On this occasion the Chinese delegation visited Innova’s premises where Innova’s innovation experts provided for useful information about the Italian national innovation system.

Workshop on “innovativity” in the ICT sector, Portici, Italy, 23-24 November 2011

The first of three workshops on “Innovativity” will be held on 23-24 November 2011 in Portici, hosted by the research center of ENEA, the Italian national agency for new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development. The programme is dedicated to SMEs from of the ICT sector and aims at bringing companies closer to the world of innovation and technology transfer.
Innova S.p.A. and Invent S.r.l. experts will be carrying the main training sessions on technology transfer, innovation marketing and financial instruments for SME innovation.

President of the United States, Barack Obama, delivered a moving speech celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Italian Unification and recognizing the contributions Italian Americans have made to the United States to more than 2,000 guests during the National Italian American Foundation’s (NIAF) 36th Anniversary Awards Gala in Washington on October 29, 2011.
The NIAF is a nonprofit, educational foundation that promotes Italian American culture and heritage.

The additional fiscal package, launched in summer 2011 by the Italian Government, has paved the way for the constitution of 'unions of municipalities' all over the country. These concern small towns with a population between 1.000 and 5.000 inhabitants, which will progressively pool together administrative and management functions allowing for local authorities to play a new role in the process of administrative decentralization.
The theme was at the center of the conference on 'Unions of municipalities' on 26 October, 2001 held in Rome at the Senate, sponsored and organized by the Foundation Field, the in-house agency of the Calabria Region. INNOVA S.p.A. signed an agreement on this occasion

Be part of the European champions in the fields of innovative services : the “How to Grow” platform assists digital media companies and creative industries to grow successfully

The EU ImMediaTe project, in which Innova is an active partner, and aimed at providing tools and services to assist the growth of digital media SMEs operating in the creative industries' sector is actively collaborating with the Europe Innova project BCreative. The ultimate goal of this collaboration is to better assist & support companies operating in the Digital Media and Creative sectors. In this context, a new platform called “HowtoGrow” has been launched to support business development for creative companies.

The Technology Transfer unit of ENEA, the Italian national agency for new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development, will organise the first of three workshops on
“innovativity” next November in Portici. The programme is dedicated to SMEs from the Campana region and aims at bringing companies closer to the world of innovation and technology transfer. The sectors to be covered are ICT, ecobuilding and biotech.
Innova will be carrying out expert training at the workshops on technology transfer and innovation.

The Italian Trade Commission, in collaboration with Innova Consulting Group, Inc., the Cambridge Innovation Center, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the National Italian American Foundation, organised an international training seminar to support entrepreneurial efforts to commercialize university research results.
The seminar provided concrete tools and examples to academic science researchers with the potential or interest in translating their research work into a research spin-off / start-up company in Massachusetts or in Italy.

MAESTRO R&D project final results to be presented at the University of Salento, Lecce, 14 October 2011

The outcomes of the MAESTRO project, led by Innova SpA, will be presented at the project final event that will beheld in Lecce on October 14th at the Center of Innovative Culture of the University of Salento.
The aim of the MAESTRO project was to develop an innovative platform that can assess the territorial impact of innovation strategies on companies that want to improve their level of competitiveness.

SAFECOMP is an annual event covering the state-of-the-art, experience and new trends in the areas of safety, security and reliability of critical computer applications. During the 2011 SAFECOMP event, held in Naples on 19-21 September, Antonio Feraco, responsible for INNOVA’s office in Cosenza, presented the paper “Trends and tendencies for embedded systems in Robotics: A case study for the Artemis R3-COP project” during the session on Dependable Embedded Systems in the ERCIM/EWICS/Cyber-physical Systems Workshop.
