Aleardo FURLANI, CEO of INNOVA, coached along side Mr. Conor Neill from the IESE Business School, a business plan competition within the Barcelona Mobile Applications Forum held in Barcelona on 17 & 18 June 2010.
The Mobile Applications Forum is the first of a series of digital media events custom-tailored to the needs of enterprises in the Creative Industries. The Mobile Apps Forum was highly successful notwithstanding the concomitance of two major events in Barcelona: the HIT, World Innovation Summit and the Mobile 2.0 Congress.

New offices for Innova Consulting Group in Boston, USA

INNOVA's branch in the US, the Innova Consulting Company Group (ICG Inc) has recently acquired new offices in Boston. The new offices are ideally situated in the financial and business district in Boston in proximity of pretigious universities and research centers such as The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Northeastern University, and the Massachusetts General Hospital Research center.

Along with the opening of the Universal Exposition in Shanghai, also begins the fabulous adventure of Italian Innovators.
From May 4th, www.italianvalley.it is online, the website dedicated to Italy’s talents and innovative ideas, developed by Wired Magazine, the Group Condenast, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation.

ItalianValley exposes the 265 innovations selected by the 'Italy of Innovators", created conjointly by the Ministry and the Italian Commissioner for the Exhibition of Shanghai.
The Innova Group will be present at the Shangai expo showcasing FEMAG, the Flexible Ecological Multipurpose Advanced Generator, integrated in the car of the future developed by LABOR, the Group's applied and engineering Laboratory. See the demo:

University of Udine studies INNOVA's Best Practices: A degree Theses on Open Innovation explores INNOVA's Model

INNOVA and Area Science Park, one of the main Italian technological and scientific parks, were the subject of a comparative study carried out for a degree thesis at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Udine.
The work was focused on the investigation of the most advanced approaches and tools fostering the Open Innovation paradigm: the case study of INNOVA was of particular interest since INNOVA applies Open Innovation methods and polices both internally, for itself, and externally, for its customers, acting as a real “Innovation broker” through a wide-spread of different services and competencies.
The study was carried out over a 12 months period by Mr. Manuele Annoè that was granted summa cum laude on this graduation thesis.

The guidebook is the result of the cooperation between the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, Medibitikar and the City of Marseille including important contributions by INNOVA Group experts: Aleardo FURLANI (CEO INNOVA), Rebeca LUCAS (INNOVA Senior expert) and Ikbel TLILI (expert INVENT).
This guidebook provides science park decision makers with a number of tools helping them manage a park. A number of strategic options are presented, and in this respect the guidebook can assist the decision making process. It can also help to benchmark a park with parks in other countries.

Beingrid project: "Rapid data recording and analysis combats cyber crime"

The BEINGRID project partners, among which INNOVA, tracked suspicious money laundering transactions by using cloud computing services. Experts say profit seizure is one way to nab criminals. The problem, however, is that innovative advances in IST have made criminals very tech savvy. Figures show that billions of transactions occur in banks each week and it is becoming a challenge for law enforcers to stop the criminals.

NOCHEMFOOD Project: an INNOVA success story

After extensive research and testing, the EU-funded NOCHEMFOOD project, a partnership of SMEs and research institutes of which INNOVA is partner has produced exciting results. Dr Pier Luigi Franceschini, Scientific Coordinator of the Nanotechnologies/Biotechnologies Department at INNOVA, who has followed the project since its launch in august 2006, confirms that the results show that the mixture of natural vegetable extracts performed as effectively as their chemical counterparts.

The study tour in Italy, organised by the Italian Trade commission (ICE) is adressed to a delegation of 10 selected industrial players in the agro-food sector from Cyprus, by the local Chamber of Commerce. The focus of the study tour is to exchange views in the fields of industrial districts, technology transfer and research spin-offs.
INNOVA will welcome the delegation from Cyprus at its premises for a presentation of its activities, organization and in-house laboratory highlighting its role as bridge between research and market with a particular focus in the agro-food industry.
